Merri Ansara, front left, welcomes a group of people gathered Monday at Nashawannuck Pond for a demonstration of solidarity with the people of Charlottesville, Va. Ansara, who is a member of Easthampton Community Coalition, a group that helped organize the gathering, asked everyone to meet the people beside them. About 150 people attended. We were at the Northampton rally last night, Ansara said, and we wanted an opportunity for the people of Easthampton to express their outrage. In Easthampton, we've had our own problems with white supremacy in our youth. We want our youth to grow up differently. We cannot fail them.
